In both films, Back Window and Vertigo, film director Alfred Hitchcock requires audiences to set themselves in the position of voyeur because they witness the action with the film through the eyes in the protagonists. Hitchcock introduces to us the meaning of the phrase voyeurism as well as the control it might possess over the person. The main characters in both motion pictures are voyeurs' and get their excitement via invading others' life. Hitchcock was a great English-American film director, writer, and manufacturer, whose exclusive style features influenced several generations of filmmakers. In Rear Window and Schwindel, Jeff and Scottie's lives are affected by voyeurism. Essentially, both equally men prefer to live by watching rather than live getting into.
